Lila Valadan

Hamburg-based Lila Valadan makes rugs by hand in villages using only pure wool and vegetable dyes. Each one is shaped by the character of its materials: the age of the fibers, the minerals of the water, the light on the day it was made. Valadan describes them as apostles of beauty. Couture Knots is among a small handful of dealers in the US carrying her work.
